SELVABIANCA VERMENTINO SALENTO IGP

TASTING NOTES: A very fine Vermentino with a nose laden with spicy fruit and minerality; harmonious and with complexity. The colour is a bright straw-yellow and in the mouth it has good stucture and great elegance.

HISTORICAL AND TECHNICAL NOTES

Selvabianca is made from the very precious fruit harvested from 3 hectares of vineyard in Brindisi and Taranto. These vineyards are low and sloping in such a way as to maximise their exposure to the sun each day. The region is at the meeting point of the two seas, the Ionian and the Adriatic; Selvabianca captures perfectly the character and historic civilization that the Salento region has in this meetingplace of the salty and briny seas with the sunbaked earth. The influence of the winds from the sea make this the ideal place to produce a fabulous Vermentino; the grapes are rigorously selected, picked by hand into cases and then cold-macerated at 10 C for 7 days.

The wine spends a brief 3 months in French oak barriques and then maturation in bottle for about 1 year to enhance the richness.
